New Guidance on Economic Stimulus Funds for Education

Administrators and Educators:

I would like to inform you of the brand new guidance documents from the U.S. Department of Education on three potential funding streams for Reading Recovery, Comprehensive Intervention Model (CIM), and literacy coaching in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) - the economic stimulus bill. Distribution of these funds to states and districts could begin in 4 – 6 weeks. Economic stimulus funds are in addition to current federal funding, and are a one-time only investment.  The funds must be used by September 30, 2010.
